Pos Indonesia is a company responsible for international postal exchange and handling of postal shipments in Indonesia. Pos Indonesia is also a member of the global EMS cooperative and delivers EMS shipments. Postal deliveries and EMS shipments by Indonesia Post are carried out in accordance with the general rules of the Universal Postal Union, which guarantees the free transit of packages by land, sea, or air among members of the united postal territory.

The international postal regulations strictly prohibit the shipment of narcotics, psychotropic or explosive substances and materials, inflammable substances, or any other kind of danger. All shipping rules, including those that restrict dimensions, weight, and postal packaging, can be found on the Indonesia Post's website.

Types of Indonesia Post tracking numbers

Pos Indonesia assigns a tracking number to all EMS shipments and packages. Small packages may not have tracking and be sent without it.

Indonesia Post's tracking number format looks like this:

  • For small packages weighing up to 2 kg: Rx123456785ID;

  • For shipments weighing between 2 and 20 kg: Cx123456785ID;

  • For EMS shipments: Ex123456785ID.

A 13-character tracking number encodes: The type of shipment in the first letter, and the second part with all digits guarantees a uniqueness. The last two letters refer to the country of the postal service; e.g. CN for China Post, US for United States Postal Service, etc.

Tracking of Indonesia Post postal packages

To avoid worrying about your shipment from Indonesia and knowing where it is at any given moment, you can track a package on the Postal Ninja website with the translation of all tracking statuses.

With a "package received" status, the recipient can be sure that it has been sent. After that, Indonesia Post shipments in transit go to a distribution center, where they are sorted and directed to the international mail exchange point. The Indonesia Post items are then cleared through customs and delivered to the designated postal operator in the destination country. This is known as the "export" tracking stage. Once imported, they go through a similar process in the destination country. The final tracking status indicates that the package has been delivered.
