Omniva is a company responsible for international postal exchange and handling of postal shipments in Estonia. Omniva is also a member of the global EMS cooperative and delivers EMS shipments. Postal deliveries and EMS shipments by Estonia Post are carried out in accordance with the general rules of the Universal Postal Union, which guarantees the free transit of packages by land, sea, or air among members of the united postal territory.
There are two types of general prohibitions and restrictions that are typical of all postal services: weight/measurement and content. All necessary information can be found on the official Estonia Post website. The permitted types and possible restrictions for the shipment of goods also depend on the country of destination.
Types of Estonia Post tracking numbers
Letters and parcels are sent with a Estonia Post tracking number, which can be used to track the movement of the package. The sender may not register small packages and letters, in which case they will not have a tracking number.
The international postal identifier consists of an alphanumeric sequence:
RA123456785EE: small packages from Estonia weighing up to 2 kg always start with the letter R, from the word Registered;
CD123456785EE: the tracking number for Estonia Post shipments weighing up to 20 kg always starts with the letter C;
EE123456785EE: EMS express deliveries start with the letter E.
The first letter R indicates that it is a registered small parcel; for shipments, the letter will be C; EMS mail begins with the letter E. The digits ensure that the number is unique. The last letters determine the country of the postal service from which the package was sent.
