Israel Post is the Israel's national postal operator, providing shipping services both domestically and internationally. In addition to standard deliveries, it also handles package deliveries. As part of the EMS cooperative, Israel Post is an official operator for the delivery of EMS shipments.
There are two types of general prohibitions and restrictions that are typical of all postal services: weight/measurement and content. All necessary information can be found on the official Eco-Post website. The permitted types and possible restrictions for the shipment of goods also depend on the country of destination.
Types of Eco-Post tracking numbers
Letters and parcels are sent with a Eco-Post tracking number, which can be used to track the movement of the package. The sender may not register small packages and letters, in which case they will not have a tracking number.
The international postal identifier consists of an alphanumeric sequence:
RT123456785IL: small package from Israel;
CA123456785IL: shipment from Israel;
EE123456785IL: express shipment from Israel.
The first letter R indicates that it is a registered small parcel; for shipments, the letter will be C; EMS mail begins with the letter E. The digits ensure that the number is unique. The last letters determine the country of the postal service from which the package was sent.
Tracking of Eco-Post postal packages
The Eco-Post tracking number allows you to find a shipment and its transit status. Information is generated for each stage of the shipment in a unified tracking system.
Eco-Post international shipments go through the following main stages:
Receipt of the shipment at the Eco-Post office;
Processing and consignment to the distribution center;
The package enters the international postal exchange site, where it is prepared for onward routing;
Customs clearance in the country of origin;
Export;
Import;
Customs clearance in the destination country;
Distribution of the shipment in the destination country;
Delivery of the package to the recipient.
