Magyar Posta tracking

The most convenient and reliable Hungarian Post postal package tracking is on the Postal Ninja website. The progress of your shipments will be updated automatically as soon as you add them to your personal list.

Magyar Posta is the Hungary's national postal operator, providing shipping services both domestically and internationally. In addition to standard deliveries, it also handles package deliveries. As part of the EMS cooperative, Magyar Posta is an official operator for the delivery of EMS shipments.

There are two types of general prohibitions and restrictions that are typical of all postal services: weight/measurement and content. All necessary information can be found on the official Hungarian Post website. The permitted types and possible restrictions for the shipment of goods also depend on the country of destination.

Which tracking numbers does Magyar Posta use?

Magyar Posta assigns a tracking number to all EMS shipments and packages. Small packages may not have tracking and be sent without it.

Hungarian Post's tracking number format looks like this:

  • RA123456785HU: small packages from Hungary weighing up to 2 kg always start with the letter R, from the word Registered;

  • CD123456785HU: the tracking number for Hungarian Post shipments weighing up to 20 kg always starts with the letter C;

  • EE123456785HU: EMS express deliveries start with the letter E.

The first letter R indicates that it is a registered small parcel; for shipments, the letter will be C; EMS mail begins with the letter E. The digits ensure that the number is unique. The last letters determine the country of the postal service from which the package was sent.

Tracking of Hungarian Post postal packages

The longest pause in tracking shipments from Hungary occurs between export and import. Without worrying, you can get an idea of where your package is at a certain point by tracking the Hungarian Post shipment on the Postal Ninja website with translation of all tracking statuses.

With a "package received" status, the recipient can be sure that it has been sent. After that, Hungarian Post shipments in transit go to a distribution center, where they are sorted and directed to the international mail exchange point. The Hungarian Post items are then cleared through customs and delivered to the designated postal operator in the destination country. This is known as the "export" tracking stage. Once imported, they go through a similar process in the destination country. The final tracking status indicates that the package has been delivered.
