Kenya Post tracking

All Kenya Post shipments can be found on the Postal Ninja package tracker by entering the tracking number in the search field and clicking the "Find by tracking number" button.

Kenya Post is Kenya's national postal service, responsible for delivering international postal shipments and internal correspondence to individuals and legal entities. It also provides an urgent postal service and carries out EMS shipments. EMS shipping rates with Kenya Post are higher, but allow for speedy delivery.

As a member of the Universal Postal Union, Kenya Post carries out its work in accordance with the rules of the Universal Postal Convention, which regulates the international exchange of mail between members. An important point of this regulation is the prohibition of transporting certain materials; Kenya Post has no right to make such shipments. These include explosive, flammable or radioactive substances, as well as other dangerous contents, counterfeit and pirated products, products of an obscene or immoral nature, etc.

Which tracking numbers does Kenya Post use?

Letters and parcels are sent with a Kenya Post tracking number, which can be used to track the movement of the package. The sender may not register small packages and letters, in which case they will not have a tracking number.

Kenya Post's tracking number format looks like this:

  • For small packages weighing up to 2 kg: Rx123456785KE;

  • For shipments weighing between 2 and 20 kg: Cx123456785KE;

  • For EMS shipments: Ex123456785KE.

According to the international format of the Universal Postal Union, the structure of the tracking number has a specific meaning for each letter and digit:

  • First letter R/C/E: indicates the type of shipment. A Kenya Post tracking number that starts with the letter R (Registered) designates registered small packages;

  • 123456785: this numerical sequence provides a uniqueness;

  • KE: refers to the country of the originating postal service.

Tracking of Kenya Post postal packages

The Kenya Post tracking number allows you to find a shipment and its transit status. Information is generated for each stage of the shipment in a unified tracking system.

With a "package received" status, the recipient can be sure that it has been sent. After that, Kenya Post shipments in transit go to a distribution center, where they are sorted and directed to the international mail exchange point. The Kenya Post items are then cleared through customs and delivered to the designated postal operator in the destination country. This is known as the "export" tracking stage. Once imported, they go through a similar process in the destination country. The final tracking status indicates that the package has been delivered.
