Philippines Post is Philippines's national postal service, responsible for delivering international postal shipments and internal correspondence to individuals and legal entities. It also provides an urgent postal service and carries out EMS shipments. EMS shipping rates with PHLPost are higher, but allow for speedy delivery.
There are two types of general prohibitions and restrictions that are typical of all postal services: weight/measurement and content. All necessary information can be found on the official PHLPost website. The permitted types and possible restrictions for the shipment of goods also depend on the country of destination.
What are PHLPost tracking numbers like?
Postal shipments are grouped into two categories, and the main classification criterion is weight: small parcels are up to 2 kg; shipments are over 2 kg. Small parcels up to 2 kg may not be traceable, but Philippines Post always registers EMS shipments and express deliveries and assigns them a tracking number.
PHLPost's tracking number format looks like this:
For small packages weighing up to 2 kg: Rx123456785PH;
For shipments weighing between 2 and 20 kg: Cx123456785PH;
For EMS shipments: Ex123456785PH.
According to the international format of the Universal Postal Union, the structure of the tracking number has a specific meaning for each letter and digit:
First letter R/C/E: indicates the type of shipment. A PHLPost tracking number that starts with the letter R (Registered) designates registered small packages;
123456785: this numerical sequence provides a uniqueness;
PH: refers to the country of the originating postal service.
Tracking of PHLPost postal packages
The PHLPost tracking number allows you to find a shipment and its transit status. Information is generated for each stage of the shipment in a unified tracking system.
With a "package received" status, the recipient can be sure that it has been sent. After that, PHLPost shipments in transit go to a distribution center, where they are sorted and directed to the international mail exchange point. The PHLPost items are then cleared through customs and delivered to the designated postal operator in the destination country. This is known as the "export" tracking stage. Once imported, they go through a similar process in the destination country. The final tracking status indicates that the package has been delivered.
