Jersey Post is the Jersey's national postal operator, providing shipping services both domestically and internationally. In addition to standard deliveries, it also handles package deliveries. As part of the EMS cooperative, Jersey Post is an official operator for the delivery of EMS shipments.

As a member of the Universal Postal Union, Jersey Post carries out its work in accordance with the rules of the Universal Postal Convention, which regulates the international exchange of mail between members. An important point of this regulation is the prohibition of transporting certain materials; Jersey Post has no right to make such shipments. These include explosive, flammable or radioactive substances, as well as other dangerous contents, counterfeit and pirated products, products of an obscene or immoral nature, etc.

What are Jersey Post tracking numbers like?

Letters and parcels are sent with a Jersey Post tracking number, which can be used to track the movement of the package. The sender may not register small packages and letters, in which case they will not have a tracking number.

Jersey Post's tracking number format looks like this:

  • RT123456785JE: small package from Jersey;

  • CA123456785JE: shipment from Jersey;

  • EE123456785JE: express shipment from Jersey.

According to the international format of the Universal Postal Union, the structure of the tracking number has a specific meaning for each letter and digit:

  • First letter R/C/E: indicates the type of shipment. A Jersey Post tracking number that starts with the letter R (Registered) designates registered small packages;

  • 123456785: this numerical sequence provides a uniqueness;

  • JE: refers to the country of the originating postal service.

The sender can obtain the tracking number for a Jersey Post shipment by registering it at the post office. You can also register a shipment remotely. Remember, however, that electronic registration does not guarantee that the sender has actually sent the item. In the former case, the physical delivery of the item is immediate, so the tracking information is very quickly added into the tracking system and the recipient can immediately verify the start of the international postal shipment.
